Powerplay fyi keyboard player, writer, and producer Ruben Agosto is just back from the ASCAP I Create Music Conference in Hollywood, and the new Powerplay album, "A Normal Life" is coming out later this spring. Here's a short intro interview Ruben did at the Heart & Soul studios just after finishing mastering on the album.
PowerPlay FYI features some of the most talented and accomplished performers around; their two vocalists (Pam Fernandez and Peter Frank) are both featured in the tracks used behind the photo collages in the video. "A Normal Life" covers a wide range of soulful, smooth jazz and funk-driven beats. Several of the arrangements are by Tower of Power arranger Dave Eskridge. Gustavo FK is a Brazilian DJ/Producer who lives in Barcelona. Beatport and his Soundcloud call this track Deep House, but it has the colorful creative colors of a lot of the music that comes from the rich and varied worlds of Brazil. It's at Beatport.
Just heard for the first time of a really creative independent artist named Lawrence Lloyd Duff, who put this visually bold video together to his song Iris. As cool as the video is, don't miss the imaginative writing and production in the track:
It's kind of hard to believe that it's been nine years since Menno de Jong, the Dutch DJ and producer, released the moody Guanxi on Anjunabeats in 2004. He hasn't stopped, in fact he's accelerating, and here's a a taste of what he's into now, his latest Mixcloud for May 2013.
